While we only opened our doors to you in early 2018, the journey here was not a recent one. Built in the late 18th/early 19th century, Lucker Mill House has stood on the edge of the village, facing south over open views for many years. No doubt tied to the former Mill that stands behind it and predates it. Built of Northumbrian sandstone under a slate roof its chunky walls have withstood many storms and winters keeping its residents cosy in front of its warm fires. Now it welcomes you as a guest to this fair land.

I have worked in the hospitality business for over 20 years, many of them running  a popular B&B close to Alnwick. New opportunities arose and I took on Lucker Mill House to continue my love of hosting visitors to Northumberland, this time closer to our beautiful coastline.

Renovation work began in late 2017 and has continued at pace through the winter months to create two comfortable and peaceful rooms in my Northumbrian country bed and breakfast, and opened in 2018. In 2020 we built onto our offering, by adding our successful hand built Shepherd’s Hut. Summer 2022 sees that initial hut being complimented by our new Fisherman’s Hut!

I look forward to welcoming you for your stay.

Lucker, Northumberland

Lucker has developed, from the 13th century, around a kink in the Waren Burn which winds from Northumberland's heather covered moorland down to the sea. A small idyllic village formerly dominated by its farming surrounds and a 17th century mill but now adapted to best serve the many visitors that come to Northumberland year after year. It is served by a large holiday complex on the site of the ruined Lucker Hall, with associated shop and spa. Two restaurants, the Apple Inn and Apple Core* and best of all the beautiful beaches of Bamburgh are just a few minutes drive away, as is Seahouses where you can catch a boat to see the wildlife on the Farne Islands. Also a few minutes drive away is the A1 meaning easy access to other local sites including the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and the many attractions of Alnwick.

*Visitors to the Mill House B&B are entitled to a 10% discount for food at either restaurent.
